A Life Lived in Christ

This past Thursday, this world and this family lost a very strong and Godly figure as Buck left this life and transitioned to the next. We will miss our brother greatly, but we know that we shall see him again.

 

So many times, our trials in this life empty us emotionally. We are numb and empty with a pain that penetrates this flesh and strikes to the depth of our soul.

Dwell With Us

“Behold, the dwelling of God is with mankind. He will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them, and be their God.” (Revelation 21:3)
 
What does it mean for God to be our God? In many ways, this is a core question that man has asked since time began. Man has a deep, built in longing for meaning, purpose, and significance. Religious expression can be studied and observed in the earliest accounts of human history. As a species, we have built within us an unshakable sense that there is something more, something greater to behold and encounter.

Wait in Silence

“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.” Psalm 62:5 (ESV)
 
Psalm 62 is written by someone who feels like they keep getting kicked when they are already down for the count. If we’re honest, I think this is something to which we can all relate. We have all found ourselves in seasons where we feel like the entire deck is stacked against us, where confusion and pain seem to await us around every corner and in every situation. If you aren’t there now, you’ve likely been there, and I would guess you have someone in your life that you know and love who finds themselves in that place today. It is through this lens that we’re meant to read this wonderful psalm.
